orum for Modern Language Studies publishes articles on all aspects of literature, linguistics and culture, from the Middle Ages to the present day. The journal aims to reflect the essential pluralism of research in modern languages and to provide a forum for worldwide scholarly discussion. It invites articles in the following subject areas: Arabic, Comparative Literature, English, French, German, Italian, Linguistics, Portuguese, Russian and Spanish. Submissions dealing with visual art, film and the performing arts are very welcome; each annual volume comprises four issues, two of which are normally special issues addressing topical themes and debates across the journal’s portfolio of languages, literatures and cultures.

  1. Es una revista de bastante prestigio en UK, sin embargo creo que no tiene el éxito que se merece fuera de las islas por su carácter “rancio”.
    A día de hoy no se entiende que una revista de “Modern Languages” solo acepte artículos en inglés. En UK todavía no han cambiado el chip de que se puede tener pensamientos profundos en otra lengua que no sea la suya.

  2. Esta revista ha decaído increíblemente. Prestigiosa para francés, pero en espanol cada vez peor. No se publica nada de relevancia. El consejo asesor es desconocido. Un tal San Román, por ejemplo, a quien conocen en su casa a la hora de comer. A la editora de castellano, Fiona MacIntyre, pues ni en su casa la conocerán.

  3. I agree. Very scarce coverage of Hispanic literatures. Spanish editor virtually unknown in the profession, a Iona macintyre. This journal seems to be run mostly by faculty in St. Andrews and Edinburgh. Very little know in the states, and rightly so.
