  1. Does anyone know how long it takes them to respond? I would love to hear about people’s experience with this journal.

  2. They respond fairly quickly and they do a wonderful job. My article was not accepted but I have no complains with the process. The only thing you need to keep in mind is that this is an annual, single-issue journal, which should get a good number of submissions. They are supposed to have a special issue in 2015, so it is likely that if you submit something that does not fit the special issue, an article sent here will not see the light of day until 2016.

  3. I contacted them twice a few months ago to inquire about their publication deadlines. Nobody ever responded.

  4. I submitted an article in May to SLAPC. The editor responded within a day with the information that the journal has essays lined up to be published through 2017 (yes, for three years!). She asked if I wanted to leave my article to be considered there or resubmit elsewhere, given the delay. I appreciated the openness and withdrew my article to resubmit elsewhere.
