Luso-Brazilian Review publishes interdisciplinary scholarship on Portuguese, Brazilian, and Lusophone African cultures, with special emphasis on scholarly works in literature, history, and the social sciences. Each issue of the Luso-Brazilian Review includes articles and book reviews, which may be written in either English or Portuguese.
My own experience as well as that of other more senior scholars in the field of Luso-Brazilian Studies has been that this journal has gone to the dogs. It is a shame because what was once was a respected journal has been run into the ground by incompetent management. If the editors are as unfit as they appear, it would be a kindness to remove them for the sake of the journal and the field it serves. I cannot in good conscience suggest that anyone submit the fruits of their labor to this journal.
Sadly, I cannot in good conscience suggest that anyone publish with Luso-Brazilian Review. The editorial staff have run what was once a good journal into the ground. There is a complete lack of communication, even when contacting the editors directly, and little by way of management. Senior Luso-Brazilian scholars at other institutions have noted the same issues and now steer their colleagues and graduate students away from it. What a waste!
